Today the major characteristics of the mass market and business of trendy clothes and footwear in Russia are: (a) recovery of the consumer demand; (b) growing pressure of mono-brand international chains, fast fashion in the first place; (c) re-division of the sphere of influence in distribution at the federal level; and (d) development of brands in the regional markets.
Each factor inevitably and significantly affects your selection of strategies in development of fashion retail. That's exactly why first of all we suggest that at the business forum we should see together the "big scenarios" of the further growth of chain retailing in this country. We all understand that correct selection of the concept of business building today, during the upswing of the market, is a lot more important than colors and styles of particular collections. Should we place our stake on high markup (sales marginality), on development of unique values of our brand or on the best price, quick turnover and strong logistics? Will mono-brand stores with a high degree of vertical integration of production, marketing, or discount trade and large outlets be bringing steadily high profit today and tomorrow? What is better: partnership with international brands or investment in your own national brand? And last but not least, how important is development of online sales in RuNet today and how real is the virtual alternative to offline stores in Russia? The Forum will face these issues to the chief executives, managers and founders of successful clothes and footwear stores, representatives of international brands and Russian manufacturers.
Along with the answers to these strategic questions the Forum will disclose the details of successful operational and tactical business management. Selection and mechanics of positioning, successful models of partnership of a brand/manufacturer and a chain, communication of brands with customers, the distributor's role and logistics examples, selection of sites for stores and store fitting process solutions. All these topics will be covered by real professionals, Russian and European experts.
